The Hot Chocolate Sparrow
With the love of chocolate and a loan, we started The Chocolate Sparrow, a simple candy shop, in 1989 in North Eastham. Gradually we learned the art of making fine chocolate and the business of selling it. In 1991 we opened a summer shop in Wellfleet. Two years later in Orleans, we opened The Hot Chocolate Sparrow, a cafe complete with coffee from around the world, desserts of every indulgence, and our own hand-dipped chocolates. Here we could offer specialty coffee drinks in a sophisticated but welcoming atmosphere. We have grown into a local institution, open early morning to late night, every day of the year except Christmas.
We created a place where people can connect. Our cafe is recognized Cape-wide, our chocolate is sent all over the country, and our coffee, desserts, and fudge have been voted #1 numerous times in various local surveys.
No wonder we are recognized as "The Best on the Lower Cape."

Docito Homemade
Brazilian Baker since 2008, having graduated in Business Entrepreneurship, Emanuele loves the art of baking. Her experience comes from her family roots and specializations in different areas. Using her family's old recipes she was able to adapt her own versions of the products where she adds a special love and personal touch. Our bakery was created in 2016 by Emanuele; after planning her own wedding she saw the difficulties in finding good food and sweets for the price paid. Not only that, but also how hard it was to have all that in the same place by the same vendor.
In 2020 her mother-in-law Pamela joined the team! With her help we were able to slowly keep growing and growing. Integrating new flavors into already existing desserts is the most fun part of our bakery; we always keep the passion for innovation and creating new things. Cakes, desserts, chocolates, and cookies are our specialty, but we also offer complete catering, which you can be customize. Emanuele is a personal chef and loves to create menus to any event with Pamela as her "sidekick".
