Lauren Giardina was born in Boston, Massachusetts in 1975. She loves to work with paper as her medium, especially iris folding, but is also known for paper piecing. In 2008, she received a BA in Graphic Arts from Regis College in Weston, MA. Mainly known at various MA craft fairs, she is also known to participate in gallery exhibits & holiday shops.
Originating in Holland in the 1700’s, it is called iris folding because the center of the design resembles the iris of a camera or eye. Strips of decorative paper are individually folded & laid over one another in a pattern.
